Frequently asked questions
Common questions about the positioning, scope and structure of the solution.
Is Muvatech a drone company?
No. Muvatech positions itself as an engineering and technology company applied to solar assets. The flight is one part of the process, not the final product.
What does our technology bring?
It brings together capture, automatic analysis and data visualisation capabilities with reusable, scalable logic.
What is HELIUS?
HELIUS is the complete solar solution based on our technology. It integrates standardised capture, panel-by-panel analysis and a visualisation platform for PV assets.
Who is the service for?
For IPPs, asset managers, O&M managers, EPCs and organisations that need a consistent thermal baseline for utility-scale plants or industrial self-consumption.
What does it offer compared with a traditional one-off thermographic inspection?
It offers comparability between campaigns, greater traceability, impact-driven prioritisation and a data structure ready for ongoing use.
Is it only for utility-scale plants?
No. The approach applies to both utility-scale and industrial self-consumption, adapting the methodology, operation and risk reading to the type of asset.
Which standards are used to measure I-V curves?
IEC 61829 is used as the reference for on-site measurement of PV arrays, and IEC 60891 for correcting curves for irradiance and temperature.
What is the difference between a one-off inspection and your approach?
Muvatech’s approach seeks comparability, traceability and operational usefulness. It is not limited to producing isolated images or reports: it provides a structured basis for O&M and ownership decisions.
Does aerial thermography replace other tests?
Not always. Aerial thermography detects and characterises thermal anomalies, but some causes need to be confirmed with I-V curves, component thermography or other specific tests.
How are bifacial modules inspected with I-V curves?
We take into account front- and rear-side irradiance and the characteristics of the array, according to the scope of the test. IEC TS 60904-1-2 is a reference for measuring bifacial PV devices.
Which specification governs outdoor PV thermography?
IEC TS 62446-3:2017 sets out requirements for outdoor thermographic inspection of operating PV modules and plants, including equipment, procedure and documentation.
What kind of deliverables do you get?
Depending on the service, the client receives a technical report, visual evidence, structured lists of findings, priority criteria and support for queries or comparisons.
Can it be planned across an asset portfolio?
Yes. The approach is designed for repeatable, consistent campaigns across assets, which makes for a more solid portfolio reading and comparisons over time.
Is HELIUS just an AI model?
No. HELIUS is a complete system for solar assets that integrates capture, analysis and a visualisation platform.
Can it be applied outside solar?
Yes, but that extension is presented as a spin-off of the technology stack and not as the main focus of the public offering.
What does the end user get from the technology?
The end user mainly works with the structured output in HELIUS: findings, history, comparisons and outputs that are useful for operations and reporting.
